Research 

Dr Mittal’s avid interest in research and teaching started very early in his career. He is passionate about practicing evidence based orthopaedic surgery to achieve the best outcomes for his patients. He believes that orthopaedics is ever evolving with new technology and increasing knowledge. He not only keeps abreast of the latest research but is also involved in participating in multiple orthopaedic trials and research projects. Dr Mittal has completed a Masters of Medicine and Masters of Surgery, followed by a PhD in Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr Mittal has authored/co-authored numerous publications and presented his research at numerous national and international conferences – see below for full list.

Being an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Dr. Mittal is also involved with teaching and has supervised a number of junior doctors and students. He is also a faculty member of the Critical Literature Evaluations and Research (CLEAR) course provided by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS). The CLEAR course provides younger surgeons with the skills needed for critical appraisal of medical literature, along with tools for understanding, designing and implementing surgical research.
